A note from the I Love You, Ni Dong Bu Dong team
Some of you must be wondering, why all of a sudden there is such a story, and why these people can be so free as to come up with it.
Well, this story started off as just a joke among the few writers on an msn chat one night. Talk of a story featuring Wei Lian began when one of us checked a fan fiction website which was accessed regularly.
“Eh, how come no one wrote about Wei Lian leh?” All of us asked the same question.
“Well, not sure leh. No one write, then we write la!” One of us retorted.
“Ah. Okay lor.” All of us answered in unison.
And there you have it, his very own fan fiction. I Love U, Ni Dong Bu Dong? Simply put, it means I Love You, Do You Know?
The storyline was conceptualized after many brainstorming sessions over msn in the wee hours of the morning. We wanted to write something touching, heartwarming, yet hilarious at the same time, so that the readers will be fully entertained, as well as to portray Wei Lian as a all-rounder, in terms of capabilities and emotions.
Of course, we don’t claim to know Wei Lian’s real character, that’s why this is called a fan fiction - everything is fictitious. But if you still choose to fall deeper in love with Wei Lian, we can’t really help you then! Hehe.
In our daily lives, we are so caught up with our work and other stuff that we seldom have the time to stop and think about our loved ones. We assume that they will always be there for us. We take them for granted. And many of us actually don't like to vocalize our feelings. We tend to keep them all inside us and perhaps only display them through actions.
As for the title, it stemmed from a coincidental chance upon the lyrics of an unpublished song without melody. I still remember how the lyrist had painted a picture of his love experience.
Indeed, many a times, humans are sensitive and indecisive. Especially when it comes to love. While some may not believe it, many of us tend to be a freedom lover and a strong person. Sometimes we are shy and reserved. Thus when it comes to love, we shut ourselves off. It's difficult to win our hearts because we have decided to keep our feelings deep inside. We see the world as it is, not as we believe it should be. Who doesn’t long for love? In actual fact, we all do, undeniably.
And “I Love You, Ni Dong Bu Dong” - a poignant title exuding what is but a sincere yearning of a guy and a girl for the one they love, to make known their feelings for each other.
A simple yet heartfelt question, as if reassuring the other party of your deep love.
Please bear with us, as the story can get quite long sometimes. Can’t help it, as the ideas just happen to flow like water on some nights. On other nights, we get writers’ block and end up chatting instead. Haha.
